Special Information

puredyne is a live Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and Debian Live and dedicated to live audio-and-visual processing and streaming.

It focuses on the Pure Data audio synthesis system as well as SuperCollider, Csound and others, plus live video-processing systems such as Processing and Fluxus.

It also includes hardware related software such as arduino and comes bundled with home-studio and graphic design software (Ardour, JACK, GIMP, Inkscape, etc.).

Linux Installation Instructions

Download puredyne911-ARCH-XXX.tar.gz to /


extract puredyne911-ARCH-XXX.tar.gz file:

tar -xvzf puredyne911-ARCH-XXX.tar.gz

Download Puredyne 911 ISO Latest Version to /mnt/ :


Mount ISO file to temporary location (/mnt/cdrom/)

mkdir /mnt/cdrom/
mount -o loop /mnt/puredyne-911-carrot_and_coriander-DVD-ARCH.iso /mnt/cdrom/

Puredyne x86: Copy initrd.img , vmlinuz , filesystem.* to appropriate directory: (LOWER CASE ONLY!)

cp /mnt/cdrom/live/vmlinuz /tftpboot/er/plugins/puredyne/i386/vmlinuz
cp /mnt/cdrom/live/initrd.img /tftpboot/er/plugins/puredyne/i386/initrd.img 
cp /mnt/cdrom/live/filesystem.* /tftpboot/er/shares/puredyne/i386/live/

Puredyne x64: Copy initrd.img , vmlinuz , filesystem.* to appropriate directory: (LOWER CASE ONLY!)

cp /mnt/cdrom/live/vmlinuz /tftpboot/er/plugins/puredyne/x86_64/vmlinuz
