Qimo 4 Kids is a child-friendly desktop environment built entirely with free software.

Qimo comes pre-installed with educational games for kids: TuxPaint, eToys, GCompris, Tuxmath, and Tuxtyping.

Linux Installation Instructions

Download qimo20-XXX.tar.gz to /

extract qimo20-XXX.tar.gz file:

tar -xvzf qimo20-XXX.tar.gz

Download Qimo 2.0 ISO Latest Version to /mnt/ :

http://www.qimo4kids.com/download/

Mount ISO file to temporary location (/mnt/cdrom/)

mkdir /mnt/cdrom/
mount -o loop /mnt/qimo-2.0-desktop.iso /mnt/cdrom/

Copy initrd.lz , vmlinuz , filesystem.* to appropriate directory: (LOWER CASE ONLY!)

cp /mnt/cdrom/casper/vmlinuz /tftpboot/er/plugins/matriux/vmlinuz
cp /mnt/cdrom/casper/initrd.lz /tftpboot/er/plugins/matriux/initrd.lz
cp /mnt/cdrom/casper/filesystem.* /tftpboot/er/shares/matriux/casper/

Verify files with filelist.txt in each folder.
