BackTrack is an operating system based on the Ubuntu GNU/Linux distribution aimed at digital forensics and penetration testing use.

It is named after backtracking, a search algorithm.

Linux Installation Instructions

Download dsl4410-XXX.tar.gz to /

https://sourceforge.net/projects/erpxe/files/plugins/

extract dsl4410-XXX.tar.gz file:

tar -xvzf dsl4410-XXX.tar.gz

Download Damn Small Linux 4.4.10 ISO Latest Version to /mnt/ :

http://www.backtrack-linux.org/downloads/

Mount ISO file to temporary location (/mnt/cdrom/)

mkdir /mnt/cdrom/
mount -o loop /mnt/BT5R1.iso /mnt/cdrom/

Copy linux24 , minirt24.gz to appropriate directory: (LOWER CASE ONLY!)

cp boot/isolinux/linux24 /tftpboot/er/plugins/dsl/
cp boot/isolinux/minirt24.gz /tftpboot/er/plugins/dsl/

Verify files with filelist.txt in each folder.
